FREEZ Construction is proud to have played a key role in the successful completion of the 116,000 SF Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) addition at Agile Cold Storage’s Gainesville, GA facility. Our team was responsible for installing the insulated metal panels (IMP), forming the backbone of the structure’s thermal envelope to ensure superior insulation and energy efficiency for this cutting-edge cold storage facility.
 
One of the biggest challenges was the tight 20-foot clearance between the new ASRS structure and the existing building. This required meticulous planning and precision execution to uphold the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and quality. Despite the constraints, our experienced crew delivered outstanding results, exceeding both the project timeline and client expectations.
 
A key factor in the project’s success was the implementation of our proprietary FREEZ custom stack joint detail—a game-changer in IMP installation. Designed in-house, this detail ensures a seamless, thermally tight seal with proven, zero-leak performance. It’s not just a detail; it’s a FREEZ innovation that sets a new standard for cold storage construction.
 
The 135-foot-tall ASRS system, featuring an advanced automated racking system, required a thermally tight, well-sealed environment to maintain -10°F temperatures. Our custom stack joint design played a critical role in achieving this, reinforcing the integrity of the thermal envelope and contributing to Agile Cold Storage’s operational efficiency.
